Hi, I’m Annie.

At the heart of Art Den by Annie lies my deep connection to Inuit culture and craftsmanship.

I am an Inuit visual artist and designer based in the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa. I blend traditional knowledge with modern design to create jewellery and accessories that tell powerful stories. Specializing in jewellery, mittens, bags, and other accessories, I thoughtfully craft each piece using locally sourced materials, including Nunavut-certified fur.

My artistry extends beyond fashion. With formal training from the Ottawa School of Art, I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, developing a cubist style that makes me one of the few Inuit painters working in abstract contemporary art. My work is deeply rooted in Inuit culture, drawing inspiration from mythology, traditional knowledge, and life in Nunavut. I have been featured in Artsy Shark, Saatchi Art, and Artsy, with pieces on display at Lineage Arts Gallery in Ottawa. The Canada Council for the Arts acquired my painting Raven for its collection, and most recently, I was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award 2026. My pieces are in corporate and private collections across Canada and around the world.

My artwork is available at Lineage Arts Gallery, and my one-of-a-kind sealskin pieces are available at the ADAAWE Indigenous Business Hub in Ottawa.

Through fashion and art, I aim to elevate Inuit culture and challenge the idea of "otherness." My work brings Inuit craftsmanship into mainstream spaces, inviting everyone to celebrate and learn about the beauty and resilience of Inuit traditions.
